Counting down to Christmas

Learning about number and other Maths ideas is great fun.  We learn best when the things we do are relevant and interesting.

We have been learning about Calendars and counting off the days until Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Every day from the start of December we have opened a pot and used the contents to decorate our Christmas tree.  This has helped us to learn more about the sequence of days and the way we say numbers like "12th, 13th....21st, 22nd"

This is our Class Tree.  Each of us have put decorations on it, learning about finding a space and planning where to fit things in. All the Christmas cards Mrs J Muir and P1 received are displayed here.
